Will Lando win this year?
Lando has made THE statement. He won by the largest winning margin of this season. He won by OVER HALF A MINUTE. It was just utter domination from start to end. He is showing why he should be the number one driver at that team. On the other hand, his teammate and main championship rival Oscar Piastri could only finish P5 and could not overtake the likes of Oliver Bearman. Overall, a good race for Lando but not so for his teammate. For McLaren as a team it is a good result but for them to handle their drivers is a more important task than anything else currently as they have won the constructor's championship.
For Red Bull, well they did the most they could, especially with Max. They offset the strategy to others and got P3 in the end, damage limitation. As always, Yuki was out of the points but this time just with him finishing P11. In the end, not a weekend Red Bull should be having considering if they want to win the drivers championship with Max.
As for Ferrari, it was a good weekend, until it was not. They qualified P2 and P3 but the race result was not as good as their qualifying positions. Charles Leclerc somehow held Max in the end to finish P2 but as for Lewis, the 10 second penalty due to the incident with Max left him way out of his podium position and finished P8, a good weekend gone terrible for him. Luck has just not been on his side for the past few races. The Ferrari has got pace, which is now evident but the execution and coordination is still lacking. Can the Ferrari at least carry forth the pace they have to the rest of the race weekends?
Next on, Mercedes.... they had pace but just not as much as their competitors and got outscored by their main rival Ferrari in the championship. They finished P6 and P7, maximum they could do with the pace they had. In all not a good weekend for them even though they got decent points from it. They will look to improve in the weekends forward.
Haas had their best weekend of the season. Both drivers in points and on top of that Oliver Bearman finished P4, his highest finish ever, matching Haas' highest finishing position too. Just an incredible drive from the young brit to hold up the likes of Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri who have a much faster car than him. Just sublime driving by him from start to end. He barely missed out on the podium which could have been his first of the season. His teammate, Esteban finished P9, bringing much needed points for the team.
As for Sauber, they got points with Gabriel Bortoleto but on the other hand could not even start the race with Nico due to hydraulic failure. So, they had pace but just could not show it with their lead driver in the number 23 car. They will look to improve from this weekend and outscore Haas again as Haas has overtaken them in the constructors due to this result.
For Racing Bulls and Williams, they did not have the pace with Isack and Alex and as for Liam and Carlos they damaged each others car in a turn 1 incident and had to retire their cars. So, in all both teams had a terrible weekend which they would like to forget.
Heading on to Aston... Lance did not have the pace and Alonso lost his brakes. This basically sums up their whole race. A terrible weekend for them, considering how close it is in the midfield, with them being level on points with Racing Bulls.
Lastly, Alpine as always last of all finishers. They have got something terribly wrong with their car this season due to which they are in a race of their own the whole season long and miles behind all other teams.
In all a very good race with exciting action and an integral turning point for the championship as Lando leads now by 1 point in the driver's championship.
Next on, we head to everybody's favourite, Senna's home race.... Interlagos. The race which is known for overtaking and risky but brave maneuvers, a true racers track. Will Lando still dominate and continue his form or does Max or Oscar have an answer to Lando. Only time will tell...
